Once upon a time, something unforgivable happen. And a great unhappiness was born because of it. The one who brought it was a sinner, who despite his better judgement, persisted in that sin.
The only one who was open to that sin was a girl-who soon became an object to his affections. Despite her resentment toward the sin, she did not blame the sinner. Rather she blaimed herself for allowing him to sin; because of this, she did not want for harm to come to him. So she tried to change him.
While trying to slowly change him, she found herself changing. Instead of the sinner repenting from his sin, she realized he was indulging himself more into his sin through her. But even when she found herself in the hands of the sinner, she did not break away. Too confused and sympathetic for the sinner and consumed with her own guilt for letting it get so far, she let the sin continue-not telling anyone that she was letting herself be punished for sinning by becoming black with her own.
What she didn't count on was for someone to pick up the pieces and to discover her suffering.
This person, whom she would willingly throw away her happiness for, is a brave and protective person. Willing to risk her relationship (though it was already in shambles) with this sinner, she asked the girl hard questions, questions that the girl herself did not want to answer. But when she told her that the relationship was over, the girl knew-the end was near.
She told the person the truth, about the sin that the sinner committed and begged for her not to be angry, for she knew it was wrong and was waiting for the sinner to change. But the person knew better, that there would be no change. Yes, there'd be change for a while, but not forever. For the sinner, change was only temporary.
Faced with this, she told the girl what should have been done, that they should call the authorities, but the girl refused. So consumed with sadness and sympathy for the sinner and his sin, she could not bring herself to hate him-hate is something she never wants to feel. So the person did the next best thing; she decided to take the girl back and banish him from her life. And though she was mad enough to kill, she knew he needed to be alive.
Now the person and the girl are readjusting once more, trying to overcome the pain of the sinner and his sin. But when will that time come? Even now, the girl does not remember how it all began. Every time she tries to recall she can't bring up a visual. Maybe it's because she closed her eyes during the sin? Maybe it was the Lord protecting her heart from the true burdens of pain and grief of the sin? It doesn't matter what; she cannot remember.




And the girl is me.
